friday favorites

              working on my dancer pose

Good Morning, it's Friday and I have a bunch of favorites this week.  Also my intention this week  is quality; I am concentrating on the quality of  my time.  Making sure that when I'm home I am not on the computer working and I'm spending time with my family.  When I'm taking a class to take that time to be present and not to think about my long list of do-to's.  I am noticing when I make "quality" a conscious thought I manage my time a bit differently and take time to be present.  It's funny that I have to take time to be present, I would love to get to a point when I am always living in the now.  Not thinking about my to-do's, wish list, or pondering on a conversation from the past.  As I take steps today I will take steps in the now; mind, body and soul.

I think this video The Majestic Plastic Bag (mockumentary) is on point, creative and I hope everyone watches it
One of my favorite yoga instructors in the Atlanta area - Lisa is amazing if you have a chance to take her class
One of my favorite sites reuseit
Tried this yummy drink after hot yoga and bootcamp this week.  It's amazing and I'll be doing a giveaway soon
Love Southern Flourish, cannot wait for the Fall issues to come out
Cute hats for fall
Loving the Wooly Bison recycled bags
Thinking about warm fall soup in these
Love her jewelry especially this and this
As you can tell I am in the fall mood today; I would love to have dinner here this fall

drive away

I am in one of those moods today where I would love to drive away on a little day trip.  Hop in the car with Casey and Brody to head in one direction and discover something new.  My camera is still in the shop; I'm waiting very patiently for it to be back in my hands.  Why do I feel like I've lost a friend?  I guess it's because my camera is usually on my shoulder, across my chest almost everyday.   Once I receive it back, we are going to celebrate and head on a little day trip to a place in Georgia we haven't been yet.  Any suggestions on where to go for a good day trip?  We usually head North, so I am thinking East or West.  Until then I am off to work and awaiting the call from the camera shop, hopefully it will be soon.

~Enjoy today

sisterhood

my sister and I two years ago - I will take more pictures this weekend to capture the growth!

My little sister is here visiting right now, sleeping upstairs while I sit and have my coffee this morning.  It's something about family staying at our house and sleeping in our guest room.  The house feels a bit more complete.  We have two extra bedrooms which are usually not occupied.  When they are occupied by family there is a since of joy that spreads through the house.   She is 13 years old and entering into 8th grade next week.  It brings back so many memories of that time in my life.  I usually only see her twice a year.  She has been coming to visit us in Atlanta for 3 years now.  We usually get up to see her, my dad and her mom in Iowa during the fall for a hawkeye football game.   Yesterday I went to pick her up at the gate and I didn't recognize her.  She has grown, almost taller than me.  Her hair is longer, her face is starting to mature.  It really made me think about growing up and how fast it happens.  5 more years and she is off to college.  5 years is not a lot of time, gosh I've been in GA for 4 years and that's flown by for me.  Thinking back when I was in 8th grade, high school graduation was years away.  I know that 5 years is going to go by so fast for me watching her grow up.  She is the sweetest girl with an amazing soul.  I am really excited to have her here.  She is going to try yoga with me this weekend for her first time.  Last night we did some goal setting.  The three of us sat down and went through our goals for the next five year.  I was so impressed by her goals and dreams, she truly inspires me.  Casey's goals were awesome, and I discovered somethings I didn't know.  I was very impressed.  If you ever have a chance to sit down and do goal setting with your family, it's a great experience.  My dad used to sit down with me when I was in 8th grade and high school to do goal setting, I kept the tradition going through most of my adult life.  Now working with lululemon it's apart of their culture and I love it!  I will be writing a post soon about goal setting and I will share some of mine with you.

We have a fun filled weekend planned; hiking, swimming, farmers market, maybe a ghost tour, shopping, and the movies.

open day

I am sitting at home drinking coffee, reading beautiful blogs and writing.  It's my day off and I am so excited to read, search some of my favorite sites, listen to my favorite music and relax.  We had our Grand Opening last weekend and it went really well.  It had been a busy couple of months getting ready for it, and was nice to see everything go great.  On Saturday we participated in Salutation Nation; beautiful!  Goosebumps everywhere and tears hiding out in the corners of my eyes.  I took pictures during this beautiful practice and could feel so much happy, inspiring, peaceful, loving energy in the air.  I hope you can feel the energy through these images.

I was so thankful for the opportunity to take pictures of this practice and feel the beautiful energy. I will always remember this day.

I thought I would share with you some of my favorites today since I haven't in a really long time.

some time

I finally have some time to sit, relax and blog a little bit before my day starts.  My intention this week is centering.  Feeling centered; what does that mean?  To me it means many things.  In yoga it means that my inside voice is quiet and I am not thinking of anything other than what I am doing in that present moment.  Concentrating on how my body feels, taking poses to a bind or into the next level.  Connecting with my soul and body, truly listening to how I feel in that moment.  One of my favorite feelings is when I am connected with myself for one hour of yoga.  After class I realize I was so deeply connected that it took me away for an hour.  I realize that for an hour I was with myself, enjoy my soul and paying attention to what my mind, body and soul needed.  There are so many times in the day when my mind and heart discuss what the best option is.  Do you experience this?  I feel that my mind is always telling me something different than my heart.  When I am in yoga, my mind is quiet (most of the time) and my heart is leading, centering, rejoicing, and living.  It's one of the best feelings I could have.  I try to bring these lessons into my daily life when I am not in yoga.  To follow my heart, stay centered and strong to the core.  Being present in the moment, truly listening to what others have to say without my mind making judgments.  Trusting my intuition and believing in my hearts desires.  Being true to who I am.  This is what centering means to me.  "When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy"  {Rumi}  Make a soul connection and do what makes you happy today.

If you haven't heard yet, this Saturday August 8th is Salutation Nation.  Everyone in the nation will be doing yoga at the same time!  Such an amazing connection and experience.  Here is lululemon's blog post about the event, and a list of participating cities.

Here are some favorites for you to enjoy!
